Weddings Across the U.S.
Wedding rules, licensing and vendor norms are set state by state and often county by county in the US — a guide written for one state can be actively wrong in another. This is where that gets sorted out by location instead of guessed at nationwide.
How this section fills in
One verified location at a time
State- and city-level wedding rules — marriage license requirements, waiting periods, local logistics, and venue considerations that differ by jurisdiction — publish here one location at a time, each checked against an official source (a county clerk's office, a state health department) before it goes live. Nothing on this page is a placeholder written first and labelled by location afterward, and nothing here counts locations that do not exist yet: there are currently 0 states published, not a number dressed up to look otherwise.
The structure is already fixed, so a new location lands in the right place automatically once it is written: /weddings/us → /weddings/us/<state> → /weddings/us/<state>/<city>, each level adding license/permit rules, weather and backup planning, venue questions, guest travel, and local decision guides specific to that place.
In the meantime, the guidance that applies regardless of where you are getting married lives in Decisions & Lessons.
